The 'my way' kind of attitude is promoting a culture of disrespect and lack of civility among our young stars and even in most adults who have decided to take the I don't care kind of attitude so long as it does not concern them.
There has therefore come to be some sort of subtle yet powerful rules in our day and age that threatens the essence of our posterity and civil liberties, and they need to be broken.
In the few lines below, would you take some time to read and articulate some of the simple yet profound and humbling remarks that if put in to practice will have the effect of enriching our lives and make our communities and homes citadels of love, harmony, peace & tranquility and serenity.
- Be true to yourself and live not in denial
- Speak evil of no one, keep your words soft and tender, you never know, tomorrow you might have to 'eat them', curse not, neither revile nor blame anybody - take responsibility for your own actions and decisions.
- In awkward situations, hold your peace and say nothing.
- Be clear about your intentions and your focus and be action oriented
- Discipline/govern not in anger but in love
- Leave that seat for the pregnant lady or the elderly standing next to you in the tube, bus or tram
- Say thank you, please and sorry whenever you ought to.
- Speak politely and respectfully to the ladies
- Forgive and have no hold ups.
- Honour your parents though they be poor
- Listen attentively and be consistent in well doing
- Chew your gum, yet not in public
- Have a laugh, though it be at your own self
- Smile, yet not like a donkey
- Sit down and eat your food, speak not with food in your mouth and speak not in your yawn.
- When in doubt, Just Ask!
- Obey the law of the land
- Be no respecter of persons in judgement, give honour to whom honour is due.
- In all your getting, get understanding! and most of all,
Obey the Golden Rule: DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU
I love and appreciate you and thanks for traveling this way with me today.
