Power in its most basic sense means; the ability to effect change. All of us in one way or the other ought to have some bit of power in our lives if we are to be effective in living.
There is an inherent power within each and every one of us and there is also the power that one gets by virtue of: position, station, and having a tool.
One of the greatest tools given to a christian to live an effective and powerful life is the Word of God and it is the most powerful tool that this world can ever know. It inspires confidence, it makes the invisible visible, the impossible possible, heals the sick, raises the dead, turns around hopeless situations and is the true bread of life.
It is "Alive and full of power(making it active, operative, energizing, and effective); it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of breath of life(soul) and (the imortal) spirit, and of joints and marrow (of the deepest parts of our nature), exposing and sifting and analysing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart" Hebrews 4:12 AMP
The sad reality is that, as powerful as the word of God is, man can render it ineffective in his/her life through traditions and man made doctrines; that is what Jesus taught; Mark7:8, Matthew 15:3
The epidemic of the modern christian however, is that the word of God is of non-effect in their lives because we have gotten too familiar with God and His word and thus inadvertently taken it for granted, not for all but quite a substantial number.
The effect is that, these attitude has permeated to many aspects of our living and taking things for granted seems to be a norm for many people. That in effect compromises your integrity and your effectiveness in enjoying a fuller life.
Anything you take for granted becomes of non effect in your life, be it your job, relationship, business, etc. Your passion for it diminishes and with less passion, less power flows through you for that particular thing; and you will agree with me that a passionless life is the most boring of lives!, not only that; you even risk losing that which you take for granted.
Its with these in mind that I titled this article, Best not to..., i.e not to take anything for granted!
Why?..
Because it will cost you Big, and real BIG!
Alright then, as solution oriented people that we are, allow me propose some principles to live by that will help us not to take things for granted, is that Ok?
Right,..
1. Thanks giving;
Our daily lives should be lives of thanks giving and praise for the great and small things in life. Giving thanks releases you from guilt, jealousy, envy and blocks the doors of complaining, criticising and condemnation which would otherwise usher in the the evil one with ease in to your life.
Giving thanks should not only be your lifestyle but your nature. In it, you will be fulfilling God's will for your life in Christ Jesus; "Rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus Concerning you. 2 Thesalonians 5:16-18
Whenever you give thanks, you get liberated and you can never take anything for granted that way.
2. Knowledge;
Strive to increase your knowledge of the people and things a round you. Just ask yourself; how much of your spouse, job, friends and associates, business, word of God etc, how much of it do you really know? Chances are that if you have taken any of the above for granted, it is possible that you think you know all that there is to that particular thing, and that my dear is far from the truth; you can not exhaustively know all that there is to any particular thing.
It is also worth noting that, the more you grow in knowledge of anything that interests you, the more interesting and fascinating it becomes for you. Now tell me, will you really have time to take it for granted if you are preoccupied with learning more a bout it? Oh no! not at all. So, increase in Knowledge everyday! simple, isn't it?
Inquire earnestly, ask questions and search out, live a life of adventure! that way you will never lose PASSION.
Growing in knowledge helps you know the value of something while it is still in your hands and draws you closer to it. Some people have gotten to know the value of something when it is off their hands, i.e when they have lost it and at that moment it is too late.
When you grow in knowledge, it helps avert your 'short sightedness' and thus enables you see the big picture.
3. Moments of Retrospect.
This calls for taking 'time out' to 'be alone'. These is where you recharge your 'batteries' get perspective on living, evaluate and analyse issues, give 'flesh to your dreams' and champion the course of your destiny with God's help. This is what I call the quiet time, and you should guard & protect it like your heart with all diligence.
At these times, you can't help but be more appreciative of your life, you look at where you have come from, the people you have met along the way, the challenges and triumphs you have encountered, you count you blessings and thank your creator.
This has the effect of lifting your spirit, clearing your vision, opening the eyes of your understanding and encouraging the free flow of God's blessings in your life!
Make no mistake, it is in your moments of silence/quietness where great things fashion themselves! and these leads me to my next point;
4. Staying in the will of God;
The active word here is Staying. And that requires active prayer, meditation on scripture, intercessions, praise, and the good news is that, you can do all these through Christ which strengtheneth you; for it is not by your power nor by might but by His spirit! your only requirement is absolute surrender to the Holy Spirit and you will live one of the most powerful lives humanly possible by divine guidance and direction
When you are in the will of God for your life as pointed out earlier on, you can never take anything for granted. Whether that thing pauses a threat to you or is simply too beautiful to behold, you will know how to deal with it and with everything in all places at all times.
In essence you will be living and manifesting Phronesis ; the highest form of Wisdom and we all, need it.
.. it was once said that; " over familiarity breeds Contempt"....
And as we have been reminded yet again today, that, the word of God is the most powerful thing in the whole universe, lets heed these words of advise I received from one of God's anointed men;
...."don't get too 'familiar' with God and His Word such that it no longer moves you. Have that child like attitude of delight and hunger for the word always. Don't be casual with the word; don't treat the Word as one of your options in life, make it your only recourse in any situation. Honour God's Word and give it pre-eminence in your life, and it'll always work for you.
That said, you will truly be on your way to Best not take anything for granted, if you take heed to the bove.

O my Soul!
Many, many years ago, there was a Shepherd boy called David who later became the king of Israel. A great warrior, a man of valour, distinguished and one who God Himself said was a man after His own Heart! what a commendation! The other person who received approval and commendation from God was; guess who, the man Jesus! yes during his baptism and during the transfiguration! "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased"
(Jesus was both man and Divine)
David, besides being a great warrior and leader was also a prolific writer and poet and its on account of one of his psalms that the subject of this article is got.
Without delving to the nitty-gritty bits about our souls, suffice it to say that, our souls are the very essence of who we are, the principle part of our being, the immaterial part of who you are, the seat of your moral, emotional, intellectual nature. You are a spirit, and your spirit is so interconnected to your soul that; the terms soul and spirit are often used interchangeably, although the former may be viewed as a more worldly and less transcendent aspect of a person than the latter.
It's no wonder, that, Jesus said "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his soul?" Matthew 16:27, we can infer therefore that it is very possible for one to lose his/her soul. Think about it, why does scripture say that: " he who wins souls is wise", it is because there are lost souls in the first place.
One of the ways one can lose his/her soul is by trying to gain the world, and in the process, delusion & covetousness sets in, and that is not particularly a winning combination.
Lets be reminded of what the master said: "Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a mans life consisteth not in the abundance of the things he possesseth" Luke 12:15, waw! what an insight. Therefore, a wise man should; seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and as scripture goes on to say; "and all these things shall be added unto you" that is reassuaring, wouldn't you agree?
Okay, right, if you can lose your soul, it is also possible that you can keep it, right? if so, then, I believe David gives us the answer in one of his psalms; of the way to keep your soul. We will get to it in a minute.
But first,
Lets understand that that though David got that great commendation from God( A man after my own heart), he was by all means a man like you and I.
He faced challenges, he went through trials & tribulations, temptations, was rejected, was betrayed, he felt lonely at times, was hated by some, was loved by others, he even sinned! however, one amazing thing about David is that; he sought & found solace and refuge in God and only in God, never in man, and he did it with sincerity and whole heartedly. "The sacrifice of God is a broken Spirit, a broken and contrite heart will He not despise"
The bible says that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works" 2Timothy 3:16-17
With that understanding, and in light of Davids life, lets get inspiration, direction, and reproof from Psalm 103 in its entirety and lets learn what our souls should be involved in, shall we!
And all the people say; Yeah & Amen!
Okay, here we go,...
Bless the LORD, O my Soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name
Bless the LORD O my soul, and forget not his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles.
The LORD executeth righteousness and judgement for all that are oppressed.
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
He has not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgretions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear Him.
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; to such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word
Bless ye the LORD, all his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my Soul.
Pheeeeeew! what a Psalm, what a great man, I often take my hat off for David, seriously, no kidding.

Originality
The word originality is a derivative of the word original; which according to the English language has a whole host of meaning. I will however, in this article center on the first adjectival meaning of the word original; i.e existing from the beginning; and that is with regard to Ideas and more so with regard to man.
May I suggest to you that nothing in its original form is ever a finished product, its always a work in progress. That is true of Ideas and is very much true of man(you and I) and those happen to be the two original things on earth, every other thing proceeds from those two.
I recently looked at the vast number of cars that rove around the streets and motorways, having different shapes, sizes, designs and appeal. I could not help but wonder at the ingenuity and creativity behind those wonderful machines.
I also did pause for thought about the essence of it and soon realised that it was once an Idea in the man called Henry Ford who dreamt of having a horseless carriage. the first model of the Ford car was the T model which was not very beautiful but served its purpose all the same.
Cars, of whatever model, like any other human invented thing are just expressions of Ideas and those ideas are always work in progress. That is why the original Idea for example of the Ford T model has undergone such change that we now have very sophisticated ranges of the Ford cars and a whole host of other models of cars; Ferrari, posher, Honda etc. they are just advances of the original Idea of a horseless carriage and greater cars are yet to be expressed because Ideas are always a work in progress.
As far as you and I are concerned, we are never a finished product either, 'Till we all come to in the unity of the faith, and knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ' Ephesians 4:13, attaining the stature of the fullness of Christ is a continuous process
You probably must have heard the expression that 'Times change and so do men'. it was also once said that your life only gets better when you get better, and since there is no limit on how much you can get better, there is no limit on how much you can make your life better.
Our creator has endowed us with remarkable ability, in fact his own ability to create because he created us in his very own Image. How much you want a change , an overhaul, a revamp in your life is all down to you! you have all that it takes to make the difference in your life and circumstances because you are an original.
You are most creative when you are yourself - the blue print for your creativity is found in the integrity of your being, your oneness with the Image of God. You are both a creature and a creator, that is very fascinating to say the least and of very profound significance to your existence and your abundance in life.
Have the courage to be distinctive, its your right to create and your privilege to be unique. You are one and the only one like you, celebrate yourself and do not apologise for it. Your creative ability does not grow old and you never grow old either, only your body does and that in itself is a mystery because science tells us that our bodies are made of cells and over a period of every seven years, you totally get a new body because all the cells in your body are replaced with new ones,and in case you did not know, your physical body is made up of cells.
The essence of your being does not grow old, it only matures, and maturity does not depend on the number of years you have seen the sun, rather it depends on you tapping into your creative faculty/ power and how often you do that. Be very curious and try out new things, 'think outside the box' take the status quo and turn it around.

Your life's situation at the moment is really amatter of your own choice and you alone can make it what you want it to be, if it is good, you can make it better, if it is better, you can make it even better and if you don't like it, you have the power to change it and you can do that anytime.
The thing about your creative ability is that, its always open to you, any time of the day at any place on the face of the earth. You can tap into it at will and turn things around by the authority of your being in unison with the image of God.
You are created an original, endowed with mervelous potential, graced with a wonderfull life in Christ, and Christ in you,- the hope of glory.
You were from the begining in the mind of God, he knew you before you were formed in your mothers womb, you have the responsibility to Obey God, Love Him with all your Heart, Soul and strength and to Love your neighbour as your self.
You are an original, be not a 'photo copy', continuously be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and may the peace of God that surpasses all understanding keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus and may the blessings of God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, be with you and remain with you, now and always.

Mazel tov
Dear friend, Success and good fortune is your birth right as well as your responsibility and despite the recent economic trends, I am very optimistic that as a seed of Abraham, you have continued to wax great and have truly been blessed.
Allow me at this juncture introduce the subject of my article today and say; Mazel tov! Congratulations! do not wait to see your victory, declare it now with your words, its a done deal already its manifestation is awaiting your declaration.
'Mazal tov or Mazel tov (Hebrew: מזל טוב) literally means "good fortune" in Hebrew. This phrase has been incorporated into Yiddish as "mazal tov," and is now used in Modern Hebrew to express "congratulations" for a happy and significant occasion or event.
The expression comes from the Mishnaic Hebrew mazzāl, meaning "constellation" or "destiny." This in turn is thought to have derived from the Akkadian language manzaltu, mazzaztum. In Israel, "Mazal Tov" is used for all sorts of happy occasions, whether they be a new driver's license, a birthday, or the end of an IDF service. Many of us have experienced new beginnings and many are on their brink of experiencing them. It could be passing your test/exam, marriage, having a child, becoming born again, bad ordeal over, starting your own business, whatever it is, I would like to say; Mazel tov!
And,
With new beginnings come new challenges, opportunities, excitement and also the unknown. God orchestrates our new beginnings and we simply have to walk in them. Be of good cheer, God is faithful and will never leave you nor forsake you.
I am very sure that you have or will arrive at this moment in your life with diligence, hard work, obedience to God and a quest for a better and more fulfilling life. your experiences, careful planning and action orientation have without a doubt also brought you this far and you rightly deserve it.
I also know that you are smart, focused and result oriented, this qualities have defined your progress so far and you should hold steadfast unto them, nurturing them further. There is nothing you can't achieve if you truly put your mind and heart unto it.
I am very sure most of you have received wise counsel and direction along the way, especially from your mentors and those who love and care about you; parents, friends, siblings, spouses to mention but a few, this is so because no one succeeds alone, we need each other.
With great success comes great responsibility. The Scriptures say that; 'to whom much is given, much will be required of him'. Let us embrace the spirit of excellence and be good stewards of the heavenly treasure in our possession and lets maximise every opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Lets be salt and light in our communities, cease to listen to instruction that cause us to er from knowledge, edify each other and above all lets be our selves. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said:'To be your self in the world that is constantly trying to make you something else, is the greatest accomplishment'. Your true self is found in your relationship to God through Jesus Christ, You are a seed of Abraham.
In God, you will do great exploits, your life will be a wonder to many, you can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth you, nothing should be hard for you. Every day, expect the best and with Gods help you will attain the best.
In closing today, Keep this constantly in your mind; Psalm 118:8 and also remember that, its God who gives you the power to create wealth, keep your hand open and He will continuously make deposits in it as you allow withdrawals to be made by others less fortunate, through your open hand.
I love you and my prayer for you is that, you go and be the best you can be, live in abundance and in the fullness of Gods grace and Word. May the sun shine gently on your face and may God keep you safely in the Palms of His Hands. Many of us have experienced new beginnings and many are on their brink of experiencing them. It could be passing your test/exam, marriage, having a child, becoming born again, bad ordeal over, starting your own business, whatever it is, I would like to say; Mazel tov!
And,
With new beginnings come new challenges, opportunities, excitement and also the unknown. God orchestrates our new beginnings and we simply have to walk in them. Be of good cheer, God is faithful and will never leave you nor forsake you.
I am very sure that you have or will arrive at this moment in your life with diligence, hard work, obedience to God and a quest for a better and more fulfilling life. your experiences, careful planning and action orientation have without a doubt also brought you this far and you rightly deserve it.
I also know that you are smart, focused and result oriented, this qualities have defined your progress so far and you should hold steadfast unto them, nurturing them further. There is nothing you can't achieve if you truly put your mind and heart unto it.
I am very sure most of you have received wise counsel and direction along the way, especially from your mentors and those who love and care about you; parents, friends, siblings, spouses to mention but a few, this is so because no one succeeds alone, we need each other.
With great success comes great responsibility. The Scriptures say that; 'to whom much is given, much will be required of him'. Let us embrace the spirit of excellence and be good stewards of the heavenly treasure in our possession and lets maximise every opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Lets be salt and light in our communities, cease to listen to instruction that cause us to er from knowledge, edify each other and above all lets be our selves. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said:'To be your self in the world that is constantly trying to make you something else, is the greatest accomplishment'. Your true self is found in your relationship to God through Jesus Christ, You are a seed of Abraham.
In God, you will do great exploits, your life will be a wonder to many, you can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth you, nothing should be hard for you. Every day, expect the best and with Gods help you will attain the best.
In closing today, Keep this constantly in your mind; Psalm 118:8 and also remember that, its God who gives you the power to create wealth, keep your hand open and He will continuously make deposits in it as you allow withdrawals to be made by others less fortunate, through your open hand.
I love you and my prayer for you is that, you go and be the best you can be, live in abundance and in the fullness of Gods grace and Word. May the sun shine gently on your face and may God keep you safely in the Palms of His Hands. Till we meet again right here next time, be sure to look after yourself, I will not say good bye but see you later. Mazel tove!

Gratitude
There are not enough words to express my appreciation to you, my God and Redeemer.
For,
To you Oh God belongs greatness, power and majesty, for everything in Heaven and on earth belongs to you Oh mighty Lord
The firmament declares your majesty, the earth and all its fullness is yours! How excellent is your name in all the earth! I will forever praise thee, I will worship you from the holy sanctuary. Behold here comes the king of kings, the sovereign ruler, the great I am, waw! who is a God like you! Father, I worship you.
Your love is great, your ways are pure, patient with our shortcomings, dear at all times, loaded with compassion, full of power & might, you have no equal, no contemporary, unconquered, the Immortal, the invisible, the only wise God! you are God by yourself! How excellent!
I am forever grateful to you, for you came to seek and save the lost, draw me close to you and never let me go, you are my desire, no one and nothing else will do.
I give you thanks for all you have done, you are so great, my soul is at rest in thee, my God.
You are the pillar that holds my life, I stand secure in your word, for you have promised that you will never leave me nor forsake me, for your word is a lamp unto my feet, it is life and thank you for the gift of the spirit of prophesy
Because it is impossible for you to lie,when you say i am rich, I know I am, I am strong, I know I am, I am well, I know I am! I am who you say I am, no contradiction, no compromise, what an assurance!
Thank you for the gift of the Holy spirit! for I have not received the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind, how awesome! I am therefore able to love supernaturally, be endowed with power and courage and also be able to make brilliant decisions, definitely not by my power or might but by your spirit. Thank you Father.
Oh God! is there any thing too hard for you? not at all! you cloth me in your beautiful presence, in your presence there is fullness of joy, you cause me to ride upon wings like an Eagle, you never let me suffer hunger, there is an abundance in my store house. Thank you.
You are beautiful beyond description, too marvelous for words, I ascribe greatness unto you oh mighty God, Lord of Hosts.
For this is the day you have specially made for me and I will rejoice and be glad in it, prosperity is mine, love is mine, healing is mine, goodness and mercy shall follow me henceforth all the days of my life, I am ever so grateful.
You knew me when I was still in my mothers womb, God i honour your Omniscience and thank you for the glorious future that set aside for me in Christ Jesus; the path of righteousness and the cleansing blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, I worship you King of Kings!
You will come again to judge the living and the dead, what a blessed assurance that you will find me worthy, for you have sealed me with your Holy spirit, the mark of excellence, my comforter, my teacher & instructor, God I love you and you Know so.
Thank you for the gift of life, thanks for prosperity, thanks for divine health, thanks for my family and friends and thanks for your word! your word is forever settled in Heaven and on earth. Thank you FATHER. I will forever praise and bless your name. Thank You!
FATHER, receive my praise and thanks giving for you and let all the glory, the honour and the praise return to you. Amen.
